Melanie Melendez Garcia, MD

CEO & Founder

Dr. Melendez Garcia is an emergency physician, born and raised in Puerto Rico. She has been practicing for almost 12 years now. In 2010, she graduated from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine. After that, she did an internship at Hospital Oncologico, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  She completed an emergency medicine residency in Centro Medico, Puerto Rico.

After her first baby boy was born, she decided to move to Florida. Now she has 3 boys. She possesses active medical license in Fl and PR.

Dr. Melendez Garcia is well prepared to manage medical conditions in any population, from babies to elderly. She has vast experience and is well skilled in minor surgical procedures including wound repair, incision and drainage, fracture and dislocations management and foreign bodies removal.

As part of MG Medical Center, Dr Melendez Garcia truly believe in patient autonomy. She is loyal to her Hippocratic oath and believe that patient can and should make proper decisions about their own medical management. Patients needs to understand their process to engage in the treatment. Everything starts with knowledge.

Tomas Zapata, RN

COO

Mr. Zapata is a registered nurse, graduated from Mayaguez Puerto Rico, with active license in Fl and PR. He was born and raise in Cabo Rojo Puerto Rico and move to Florida in 2017 after Hurricane Maria. Mr Zapata has been practicing nursing for 14 years now. He is experience in emergency room, which make him able to manage any population, from babies to elderly, with diligence and expertise. He is well skill in venipuncture (IV) , medication administration and make patients smile.

As a member of MG Medical Center, Mr Zapata understands than patients are not numbers. He is committed to improve health and emotional well-being. Everything starts with compassion.

Eddid Colon, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Colon is a member of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, graduated as Emergency Physician from The University of Medical Sciences Campus School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. As a Chief of Resident, Dr. Colon was recognized by his extraordinary and distinguished way of leadership in the emergency medical field, recognized as a Second- and Third-Year Resident of the Year. Beside his talented skills as an ER Doctor which include management of fractures and dislocation, identification of life-threatening cardiac diseases, minor surgical procedures, geriatric and pediatric emergencies, his work and heart for his patients and coworkers are proof of his commitment and passion to work for a better and improve health care. As a husband and father, born and raised in Mayaguez PR, Dr. Colon prioritize emotional and family’s well-being, not just as an individual but, also as a community member.  

As a member of the MG Medical Center Dr. Colon is committed to provide an exceptional service as a medical director and as clinical provider.

Radames Perez, RN

Registered Nurse

Mr. Perez is a registered nurse, born and rised in Bayamón, PR. He graduated from Nursing School in 2011 in his hometown. He worked for a little while in one of the busiest hospitals in the island, Centro Medico.

In 2012, Mr Perez left the Island. He continue to work as a registered nurse in The state of Florida. He now has over 10 years of experience with patients any age, is skilled in intravenous lines and management, as well in procedures. Mr Perez cares about patient safety and satisfaction.

As part of MG Medical Center, Mr. Perez understand patients are people that must be treated with respect and compassion.

Angel L. Ortiz, PMD

Paramedic

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Over 20 years of experience in the Medical Services Field in both Florida and Puerto Rico, Mr. Ortiz understands the power of perseverance and humanitarianism that is involved in his profession as a Paramedic-EMT.

Being born in Ohio, and raised in Humacao, Puerto Rico has motivated and pushed Mr. Ortiz to have compassion and tenacity for his work in order for him to fully advocate for his patients’.

Angel has proficiency of administration of pre-hospital care, emergency diagnosis, treatment procedures such as advanced airway management, heart monitoring, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and providing first aid or life support to sick or injured patients’ etc.  Having received Paramedic of the Year for 3 consecutive years in a row and presented with the Emergency Service Medal for being part of the World Trade Center Recovery Efforts in 2001, Mr. Ortiz is an excellent asset to the MG Medical family.

Being a part of MG Medical Center, Mr. Ortiz believes that compassion is a passion with a heart and his dedication, love and commitment for what he does will manifest through his work ethic and personality to each patient under his care.

Yashira Bruno Garcia

Office Manager

Mrs. Bruno García was born and rised in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. In 2016, she became a mother for the first time. There is when she decided to move to Florida. Since then, she has been working hard for her daughter to have a brilliant future. She considers herself as a strong successful woman who is a powerful influence on her daughter.

Yashira Bruno Garcia has more than 10 years experience in customer service. She is an ultrasound technician and is currently the office manager at MG Medical Center.

As a member of MG Medical Center, Mrs. Bruno Garcia understands than patients are not numbers. She is committed to improve the perspective of healthcare system with her service. Everything starts with service.
